Emery Scott Wetzel (b. 1907, Billings, Mont.-d. May 4, 1989), U.S. Air Force officer, graduated from West Point in 1929. By 1935 he was serving with the 72nd Bombardment Squadron in Hawaii, and later became flight commander, 50th Observation Squadron. George Bernard Dany (1910-2001) was born in the Philippine Islands as the son of a U.S. Army officer. Having attended schools in San Diego, California, including the San Diego Army-Navy Academy, Dany entered the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, New York in 1930. He would graduate and receive his commission as a Second Lieutenant in 1934. He trained as a pilot at Kelly and Randolph Army Air Fields in Texas, and received his pilot''s wings in 1935.
